Trip itinerary
- Please note that there will be no possibility of taking part in the plenary lecture when you choose this excursion.
- 07:30 Gathering at a specified location in Katowice. Departure from Katowice in the direction of Wisła.
- 10:00-17:00 The participants will go directly to the Beskid Śląski mountain range. We will ascend the Skrzyczne Mountain by a chairlift, walk along the hilltop trail towards the peak of Małe Skrzyczne (the Little Skrzyczne, 1,211 m above the sea level), and continue the trek towards the Malinowska Skała (the Raspberry Rock) along a slightly more strenuous incline, to descend towards the Biały Krzyż (the White Cross) saddle, where we will have lunch (included in the excursion price), end the excursion, and from where we will travel back to Katowice.
- At 17:15 departure to Katowice.
- At approx. 19:00 arrival in Katowice.

- 10:30-16:30 After the plenary lecture, the participants will travel by coach to the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland.We will visit the castle in Pieskowa Skała (the Dog’s Rock Castle), see the Hercules’s Club, and the ruins of the Ogrodzieniec Castle. On the way back, we will visit Olkusz with its underground cellars and passageways of town hall and county office. A restaurant lunch is included in the excursion price.
- Arrival in Katowice at approx. 18:00.

- 09:00-10:30 Plenary lecture at the Jagiellonian University.
- 10:30-17:00 Our walk will begin with a visit to the Jagiellonian University. We will then head to St. Florian’s Gate and the Barbican. From there, we will walk to the Old Town Square, where we will explore the Cloth Hall and St. Mary’s Basilica, and later proceed towards the Wawel Hill with its Royal Castle. There, we will visit the Wawel Cathedral, the Castle treasury, and the former royal chambers. At the end, we will visit the Rynek Underground Museum. The excursion price includes a restaurant lunch.

We will walk along the Szeroka (Broad) Street with its synagogues, see a fragment of the Kazimierz city walls, Helena Rubinstein’s House, a memorial to the Holocaust of the Jews of Kraków, and other places of interest.
- 13:00-14:00 Lunch in one of the restaurants (included in the excursion price).
- 14:30-17:00 Guided tour of the Oskar Schindler’s Factory and a visit to the MOCAK Museum of Contemporary Art.
- Return by coach from Krakow to Katowice.
